Registration Coordination
and Liaison Wing
The Registration Coordination and Liaison Wing
is mainly responsible for registration of companies and supervision
of Company Registration Offices (CROs). It monitors the functioning
of registered entities in terms of the statutory provisions, regulates
corporate compliance of registered entities and ensures filing of
statutory returns by companies. Implementation of cost accounts
in related industries, development of legal framework, and providing
guidance to CROs and the general public are also part of the functions
of the Wing.
Enforcement and Compliance Wing
The Enforcement
and Compliance Wing is responsible for investigations into the affairs
of companies, examination of merger schemes, amalgamation and takeovers,
liquidation of companies, handling of court cases, matters of adjudication
and prosecution, and coordination and liaison with Government agencies.
Licensing and Complaints Handling
Wing
The Licensing and Complaints Handling
Wing is mainly responsible for issuance of licenses to Associations
not for profit, under section 42 of the Companies Ordinance, 1984.
A Complaint Cell has also been established within the Wing for efficient
and effective disposal of complaints from the general public, corporate
sector and investors.
MIS Wing
The MIS Wing is primarily responsible
for matters related to automation of CROs and the Registration Department.
Some of its many activities are development and updating of
the Companies Registration and Compliance System, website development
and updating, creation of specific MIS reports, dissemination of
information to different agencies, and onsite and off-site monitoring
of CROs.
Research and Publications Wing
The Research and Publications Wing is
responsible for undertaking research and preparing publications
pertaining to the role of the Registration Department. Its main
tasks include the publication of Companies Ordinance, 1984 as well
as other rules and regulations made thereunder and the guidance
booklets for awareness and information dissemination on corporate
matters. Research is also being carried out to further facilitate
the corporate sector through development of standardized memorandum
of association for various sectors of the economy.
